Woolly Pocket
I have tried to grow plants and fresh herbs. No matter what, they always die. Typically, I blame it on the hot Arizona sun and desert conditions I have to contend with. Therefore, I'm on a constant look out for products that may help my little thumb become a lovely shade of green.
I may have found it! Woolly Pockets are a great new way to grow plants on your wall (indoors or out), on your table, in your house, or in your backyard.
With your wally, you can grow on your wall inside or out.
With the Wee Woolly, Patch, Ridge, Meadow, Lil Meadow and Knoll, you can grow in the middle of your living room, in your backyard, or on your table.
I think I am going to try a Wee Woolly for my dining room table and a Wally One for my wall.
There are great videos on the website so you can see these wally/woolly in use. I am so excited to get my Woolly! I can't wait to start growing basil and rosemary on my wall.
Postino Now Open for Brunch
I'm pretty sure I'm one of Postino's best customers. I can eat an entire board of bruschetta and a couple glasses of $5 happy hour wine on any normal night. Meetings, lunches, dates, dinners with the girls…good food, excellent service, atmosphere amazing.
Brunch is one of the most important meeting times for girlfriends everywhere. So,imagine my thrill to hear they opened for brunch! My girls and I are always looking for new brunch spots, especially after E.Clair lead us to a restaurant reminiscent of the cafeteria at a old folks home.
I decided to do a trial run this weekend before assembling the girls for one of our brunch dates (Just to make sure that E.Clair's brunch is always remembered as our oddest and worst brunch ever. Sorry, E. ;o) ).
I think that any good brunch menu should have french toast. I am a whore for french toast. French toast on the Postino Brunch menu? CHECK!
The french toast is made from ciabatta. It was pretty tasty, though I never turn down battered, grilled bread drowned in butter and syrup. The berry compote on the side was good, though I opted for traditional syrup, because as I said, my toast likes to swim in the syrup. Creme fraiche, fresh strawberries and toasted almonds were a great touch.
My bacon was way over cooked (ie. char!), which bummed me out because nothing goes better with french toast doing laps around my plate in butter and syrup, like some perfectly cooked porky!
We also tried the fruit-granola-yogurt bowl. Unimpressed. Plain yogurt, not much flavor to the granola. The fruit on top was okay, though I don't like grapefruit with my yogurt and granola.
Scones: excellent! I am a picky scone diva. While, I still think the scones I make are the best, I loved these. Slightly sweet. Soft. YUM!
To top it off, some nice strong coffee and I'd say this is on successful brunch destination! I can't wait to go back and try the frittata. I will definitely not be on the bad brunch list with E.Clair once I host brunch at Postino for the girls.
And remember, always clean your plate…especially for french toast!
