Kitchen Salutation

Today has been one of those days. It wasn't bad, just a little out of balance. Too many thoughts. Too much time to think. Work. Money. Guy. The usual.

In a desperate attempt to right my world, I went to the kitchen. Fresh green beans and strawberries from the farmers market. A perfect spring dinner.

If you've ever worked in a restaurant, you know the feeling of standing on a busy line and zoning out for a few hours. Hands, body and mind focused solely on the food you are preparing. It is, in my opinion, the best way to silence your mind. Plus, it's tastier than yoga.

Cleaned green beans, minced garlic (3 cloves for me), good olive oil, salt and pepper. 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. Finished with a little sea salt.

Yogurt, dollop of sour cream and some local honey. Strawberries.

Mind calmed. Belly full. My bed is calling. Night, darlings. And remember, tomorrow is a fresh day.
